cousin clan count at 9. | kansas city children’s photographer

so we had terribly cold weather, at least one sick kid, and a brief couple of minutes of cooperation, but we managed to continue with tradition in getting a fun photo for this clan of cousins’ nana and papa for christmas. we had one addition this year, giving a new running total of nine! sure are lucky to have so many cousins living so close.

closing the thanksgiving chapter and kicking off the merry month of december with some cuts from my photoshoot with my boys (+ dogs!) in an attempt to get a picture for our christmas card. None of the aforementioned made the task easy, but i’m happy to have my christmas cards made, and some extras for the fridge. those boys give me much to be thankful for, and we’re looking forward to our first christmas as a family of four!

ModernBrownBag | chicago photography

I had the opportunity to shoot a different kind of subject at the beginning of this month. Amy asked me to photograph a few dishes for her Chicago-based family meal service business, ModernBrownBag. She earned her culinary degree from Le Cordon Bleu in Chicago, and now delivers meals to families with new arrivals who don’t have the time (or energy!) to spend preparing meals.
I was also lucky enough to sample each of the dishes, and I have to say.. I’m just sorry she doesn’t live in Kansas City. Her services would be greatly appreciated at my house! Take a peak below at her delicious dishes — I’m hungry all over again just from looking through these again!

And the lovely face behind these creations? Chef Amy of ModernBrownBag, Chicago.

the r family | kansas city family photographer

it had been a few years since our last session with megan, justin, and bo. having family all together in one place is a good occasion to upgrade some old family photos. it was a beautiful day for some outdoor shots with the “r” family – it was so nice to meet all of you!
