sad sunflowers.

on our second try, we found the sunflower field. northeast of lawrence, ks lies 27 acres of sunflowers.

alas, we were a few weeks too late (mind you, we couldn’t find it a few weeks ago) for the field in all its bloomed glory. the heads have become heavy with seed, and they’ve lost their perk. so i stood in the middle of a very sad field of sunflowers, and did my best to follow suit..

at any rate, i’m happy to have found it. it will be on my to-do list next year during its peak week!

i played with texture this week. i liked this particular set of pictures dirtied up a little. 🙂

river birch.

our baby river birch.
i love the peeling bark of its trunk.

dog park with the dischinger’s.

a couple of shots of my husband’s brother and family on our way up from the lake at the dog park. my niece, ella, was in her daddy’s shirt because her clothes were so wet from playing in the water. i think these pictures are so cute of their little family, lily included! 🙂

and yes, i just watermarked the pictures. it makes me feel important. 😉
