a day at the park.

at least one day of the weekend includes a trip to the “big” park. the dogs love it, and i love having a reason to be outdoors. not to mention, it seems there’s something new that has bloomed every time i take my camera along.

you know it’s a good day at the park when both dogs come back filthy, bur-infested, reeking of lake, and best of all.. exhausted. god bless weekends.

blue skies & sunshine.

you’d think it were spring here in kansas city this weekend. the weather has been absolutely gorgoues – too perfect to be indoors! A/C: off, windows: OPEN!

here’s a silhouette of kirkwood against the pretty blue sky. oh, and look at that sunshine. <3

sparklers.

i can’t tell you how long it’s been since i played with a sparkler – undoubtedly 10 years, at least. i had the chance to fall in love with them all over again this past fourth of july. you can totally see how mesmerized i am – a great shot taken by my husband! 😉

christmas in july.

my camera is here! as excited as a little kid on christmas morning, i rushed home on my lunch break once my husband let me know it had arrived on thursday. now that the weekend is here, i’m hoping the sun will come out so i can play with my new toy!

thank goodness for my dogs who don’t pass judgment on me as i follow them around with my camera trying to learn to shoot. (or at least if they do, they are unable to communicate that to me!)
